Good morning Bahrain, this is Newzak. We bring you local news every morning at 7AM.
Don’t miss the Bus
With students returning to in-person classes this Sunday, the Ministry of Education confirmed transport services are ready. Buses are prepared, drivers trained, and safety measures in place for a smooth return.Pickups start as early as 5:45 AM, with school at 7:05 AM and dismissal between 12:35 PM and 1:45 PM.Students continuing remotely will stay on the existing blended system.
Rent is Due
Even if tenants leave early due to disruptions, lease agreements in Bahrain remain legally binding, meaning rent is still owed in most cases. That said, some situations may be reviewed individually. Without valid legal grounds, tenants can’t simply stop payments, which has left some families covering rent for two homes. In certain cases, solutions like mutual agreements, contract clauses, or court intervention may help ease the burden depending on the circumstances.
BIC Attendees
After Bahrain International Circuit opened its gates for Batelco Fitness on Track Friday morning, the track quickly filled with runners, cyclists, and people of all ages.
From easy morning laps to more intense sessions, the F1 circuit turned into a lively fitness space with something for everyone. I was too lazy to go!
Separate Bills
The Northern Municipal Council has approved a proposal to allow separate electricity and water meters for homes shared by multiple families. The move aims to improve safety, reduce outages, and make billing fairer between households. It reflects the growing trend of shared housing, especially during high-demand periods like summer. If implemented, it could ease daily tensions and give families more control over their utility costs.
Champs Again
Al-Muharraq Club has been crowned champions of the Zain Bahrain Basketball League, adding another title to its long-standing legacy. It’s a familiar sight for fans, with the club continuing to dominate the local basketball scene.
Factak: Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) is the most valuable company in the kingdom.
