Good morning Bahrain, this is Newzak. We bring you local news every morning at 7AM.
Solid Small Businesses
The last few weeks have been hard on everyone, especially small businesses. Supply chains were disrupted, Ramadan activity decreased yet most local businesses stayed open and kept going. Social media did its part too, with Bahrainis calling on each other to shop local. When things get tough, Bahrain unites.
Bad News for Students?
School quizzes are back next week. The good news, you pick how: online, in-school, or home-based. Quizzes will only cover key lessons and essential skills, and if you're having technical issues you can delay. Final exams are still scheduled for May, conditions permitting. Keep playing video games but start revising.
Caballo De Mar in England
Bahrain's racehorse finished second at the Group 2 Dubai Gold Cup in Meydan, one of the most prestigious horse racing events in the region. A solid start to the season, and the team already has their eyes on Royal Ascot in England.
Force Majeure
Bahrain's leading steel group Foulath Holding has declared force majeure on parts of its operations, citing closed airspace, disrupted shipping routes and escalating regional tensions.
New Spots
Supernova Burger and Matcha Bar have landed in Avenues and they couldn't be more different. Supernova brings the burgers, the Matcha Bar brings the green stuff. Do you eat the burger first or drink the matcha? Maybe both at the same time!
Factak: There are 37 Hotel chains in Bahrain, the majority of which are in Manama.
The camel wishes you a good morning!
