Good morning Bahrain, this is Newzak. We bring you local news every morning at 7AM.

Business is harder
The Shura Council debates a proposal this Sunday that would force any company with a foreign shareholder to put up a BD30,000 bank guarantee for the lifetime of the company. The financial committee has already recommended rejecting it, warning it would hurt Bahrain's reputation as an easy place to do business. This makes it harder for startups and small companies.

Al Dana Dhow
The Al Dana dhow tragedy took place on March 30, 2006, when an overcrowded, modified passenger boat capsized off the coast of Muharraq, claiming 58 lives and injuring more than 70 others. A tribute to mark the 20th anniversary had been planned, but it has now been postponed.

Turbo Tariq
Eleven-year-old Bahraini karting talent who goes by turbo.tariq is taking a major step in his career, joining an Italy-based team for the 2026 season. Backed by the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait and guided by Minardi Management, the two-time local champion is now preparing to compete internationally and represent Bahrain on the global stage.

Easter Celebrations
Churches across the country will be celebrating easter by holding special prayer services this Sunday. Timings and activities vary based on the churches, but there will be an egg hunt in Awali church!
